How does it work?
- Register your details at bimaleo.com With a username(enter your email address) and password, an email will be sent to you for verification which shall allow access to the dashboard for Pay as you use purchase.
- Once logged in, you add your vehicles registration details by clicking the Add Vehicle tab and follow the prompts for vehicle details and upload of existing policies.
- As long as you enter the correct information, you will be able to purchase flexible insurance policies. You can buy comprehensive premium policies for the day or days not the year as long as your car is connected with a tracking unit we have created a partnership with*. You can also buy third party insurance from us at competitive rates with issuance of AKI digital certificates.
- A transaction fee via Mpesa will be charged per premium purchased prior to authorisation of the premium purchased. This transaction fee will be made to Bimaleo in order to ensure that we provide you value added services via our platform.

Can anyone use the platform?
Yes, as long as they have a trusted tracking unit installed* in their vehicle and we have authorised the tracking provider as a partner to Bimaleo.

Do I need to value my vehicle each time I purchase
insurance?
For corporate users, we do not generally require a valuation on the vehicle.

What if I am a tracking provider and would like to
join Bimaleo?
Kindly contact it@bimaleo.com and we shall revert back to you with our KYC process for on boarding.

What if I have a tracking device/provider that is
not on your list?
Kindly contact us on it@bimaleo.com and we shall guide you on the KYC process for on boarding. If the tracking provider is licenced by CAK, the process for registering your vehicle/s will normally take 48 hours.

What if I do not have a tracking device but would
like to use the service?
We require a trusted tracking device to be installed* in your vehicle and have the option to choose which tracking provider to use through the platform by providing details on the contact us form.

Can I register more than one vehicle on the
platform?
Yes you can register as many vehicle on the platform.

Do I have a choice of insurance providers?
We currently work with Fidelity Shield Insurance but will be onboarding numerous other underwriters in the market.

Can I buy third party insurance?
Yes you can purchase third party only (TPO) and third party fire and theft (TPFT) insurance from us. We will issue digital certificates via AKI (Association of Kenya Insurers) which can be displayed on the vehicle windscreen.

Can I buy comprehensive premiums when I have an
existing third party policy with my broker/underwriter?
Yes you can keep your existing third party insurance policy and purchase comprehensive premium policy. For comprehensive premiums, we will email you the policy document as soon as payment is made and the required information is uploaded.

How do I pay for the policy?
We have an Mpesa paybill number for payment of policies.

Will I receive a policy note each time I purchase
the premium?
Yes.

What does the policy cover?
The policy note is a standard cover which includes windscreen access up to Ksh50,000.

Will my premium be adjusted dependent on my driving
profile?
Yes, through the telematics data we analyse driver behaviour patterns. The better driver you are, you benefit from lower premium and vis-versa.

What data does the platform collect?
Through your fleet management software from your tracking provider, we collect driver behaviour ratings. This entails how you use your vehicle during the policies existence which includes harsh braking, speeding, harsh cornering etc. This will allow us to improve your premiums rates or encourage safe driving by allowing you to improve your ratings.

What value additions does the platform provide?
We have partnered with KK Security to provide emergency response services**. You have the option to include this service in your daily premiums.

How does the claims process work?
In the event of an accident, we will receive an alert of the accident through your tracking device. This alert will also be sent to your underwriter for claims processing. In order for the claim to be processed, terms and conditions will apply.

Does Bimaleo process claims on behalf of the underwriter?
We do not process claims, however we will provide accident reconstruction reports to the claims department of your chosen underwriter for ease of claims processing.

Will I be alerted when my insurance policy is up for renewal?
Yes the platform will alert you of the expiry of the policy prior to the time. You will have the option to keep the policy by paying for the extra days required through MPesa.

Are we regulated by IRA?
Yes, we are Licence No : IRA/05/39759/2022
*We partner with trusted tracking providers but welcome customers who have existing tracking units on their vehicles that we do not have on our system but would like to use Bimaleo services. Kindly fill out the contact us information and a sales agent will be in contact with you.
** Emergency response services are provided through KK Security and will incur additional costs.
